Termite Control

Termites cause an estimated 5 billion dollars in damages each year, leaving many unsuspecting home and business owners paying for expensive repairs. Active termite activity can be hard to detect and many times is overlooked until there is a "swarm" of termites. By this time, chances are that your property has already sustained damage, and given enough time, termites will feed on wood until nothing is left but a hollow shell.

Southeastern's termites specialist are ready to uncover hidden termite problems by conducting a thorough inspection and analysis of your property. We offers guaranteed termite protection by utilizing our various types of control methods which is backed by our million dollar repair warranty.

Drywood

(Cryptotermes cavifrons)

drywood

Drywood termites are found along the southern border in the US. As there name implies, they feed on dry wood typically above the soil. Colonies are constructed inside the wood and can be hard to detect. One of the most common ways to identify termite damage is by the fecal pellets left behind. These are round pellets measuring about 1/25" long (about the size of a grain of sand) that are commonly kicked out by the workers.

Subterranean

(Isoptera)

subterrain

As one of the most destructive insect pests of wood, these insects cause more than $2 billion in damages each year. Moisture is important to these termites as they have little resistance to dehydration. To survive, they must maintain contact with soil (their primary moisture source) or other above-ground moisture sources, such as in structures with defective plumbing or areas with improper drainage. They can be observed in mud tubes they build as a means for travel and protection.

Formosan

(Coptotermes formosanus)

formosan

Belived to have originated in China, the Formosan is considered the most extreme termite of all. Colonies consist of millions of individuals that can collectively eat up to 13 ounces of wood a day. These termites also build mud tubes, but unlike their relatives, they do not need soil to live once a successful colony has been established above ground. That can make locating and controlling these termites more difficult.
