These look similar to coffee grounds and are found near termites knock out holes.

TERMITE WOOD DAMAGE

Not always visible, termites may hollow wood leaving paint to hide their destruction..

TERMITE MUD TUBES

Also known as shelter tubes, these serve as bridges between the colony and wood they consume.

TERMITE SWARM

Usually found in the spring or fall, mature termites leave the colony to form new colonies.

FLORIDA TERMITES

Different types of termites require different treatments and methods for preventing and eliminating infestations. Deciding which treatment is best is a combination of determining the type or types of termites and closely observing the structure that is to be treated. DRYWOOD TERMITES

As their name implies, Drywood Termites feed on dry wood, typically above the soil. Colonies are constructed inside the wood and can be hard to detect. One common way to identify termite damage is by the fecal pellets they leave behind. Commonly kicked out by workers these pellets are about the size of a grain of sand.

SUBTERRANEAN TERMITES

Incredibly destructive, Subterranean Termites cause more than $2 billion in damages each year. These moisture dependent termites maintain contact with soil and typically build colonies in structures with defective plumbing, or areas with improper drainage. They are often build mud tubes as a means for travel and protection.

FORMOSAN TERMITES

Formosan Termites are considered to be the most destructive. These termites also build mud tubes, but successful above ground colonies, consisting of millions of individuals that collectively eat up to 13 ounces of wood per day, do not need soil to survive. This can make locating and controlling them more difficult.
